Sporting and West Ham back on friendly

Football teams Sporting Lisbon and West Ham are back on friendly terms after having fallen out because of a potential transfer of the player William Carvalho.

In a statement yesterday both clubs acknowledged there had been a lack of communication regarding William Carvalho’s transfer which created a misunderstanding.

The war of words started in September when Sporting Lisbon’s president  said he had not received any offers for William Carvalho’s transfer while West Ham’s co-owner David Sullivan, said that the offer had been rejected.

At the time a reported €30 million was being offered by West Ham for William Carvalho’s transfer but in the end he remained in Sporting Lisbon.
