The Killers unveil emotional video for ‘Rut’

The Killers have shared the emotional video for ‘Rut’ – the latest single from their fifth album ‘Wonderful Wonderful’.

Following the stomping groove of ‘The Man’ and indie-rock cut ‘Run For Cover’, Brandon and co have slowed things down with reflective new single ‘Rut’.

With Brandon Flowers previously revealing that the track was inspired by his wife’s PTSD, the visuals – directed by Danny Drysdale – address feelings of isolation and depression as the character moves through life.

Speaking of the track’s inspiration to NME last year, Flowers said: “It’s when a person has had multiple traumatic experiences. Her whole life, she’s been covering it, pretending it isn’t there. For whatever reason, in her 30s, it’s decided to really manifest itself and that’s what I’m going through with my family.

“Usually I feel protective of her but I decided to take it head on. So ‘Rut’ is about her submitting to it. She got severely depressed and it wasn’t until she sought counselling and got a name for what was going on that it helped.
