Algarve University researcher in pioneering project for intestinal protein imbalance


A researcher from the Algarve University is taking part in a pioneering study being conducted in the US to establish a link between the intestines and the development of diseases such as diabetes. 

Leonor Faleiro is conducting the ground-breaking research in partnerships with the University of Florida. 

It came after the scientist noted that children who developed such diseases had an imbalance of intestinal protein.
