The Algarve’s Pego do Inferno beauty spot in Tavira has been destroyed following a fire last weekend.
Sul Informação reports the waterfall has been rendered practically unvisitable after Saturday’s fire consumed around three hectares of land, including visitor walkways at the spot.
PJ police are investigation the cause of the fire; Tavira Mayor Jorge Botelho said the spot’s “rehabilitation is being studied”.
