Animal testing soars in Portugal

New figures from the EU have shown that animal testing in Portugal more than doubled in the space of just two years.

According to a statement released by Cruelty-Free, Portugal increased animal testing from 20,000 in 2015 to 52,000 in 2017.

The UK topped the list, conducting more than 2.5 million tests on animals in 2017. Mice topped the list in terms of testing, while there were more than 350,000 tests on rabbits and a further 13,000 on dogs.
