ARS Algarve issues breast cancer screening scam warning

The Algarve branch of the National Health Service has warned of a scam in which women are being asked to send pictures of their chest for a bogus mobile breast cancer screening.

According to reports a person posing as the head of ARS Algarve’s breast cancer screening program is contacting women in the region via phone, asking them for photographs of their breasts as a way of “diagnosing” the disease.

The ARS Algarve has said the case will be reported to the authorities and stressed official summons for screenings are always made by post.
