Eight of 17 migrants who fled Tavira barracks detained
Eight of 17 migrants who fled this morning from the 1st Infantry Regiment Barracks in Tavira where they were in quarantine have already been detained, the SEF Foreigners and Borders Service has announced.
Two were captured earlier on this morning; one had to be transported to Faro Hospital after injuring a foot during the escape. The other was taken to the PSP police station in Tavira.
The fleeing migrants were part of a group of 28 Moroccan citizens who illegally landed on Deserta Island, in Faro, on 15 September.
