Lisbon IPO’s blood service has new facilities but needs more donors

The Lisbon IPO’s blood service has new facilities to receive around 4,000 donors annually, but, however, it says it needs to increase the number of donors and especially to more young people donating.

The appeal comes ahead of World Blood Donor Day, which is marked tomorrow. The Immunohemotherapy service operates in a renovated facility at the headquarters of the Portuguese Oncology Institute in Lisbon, which involved an investment of €750,000.
