Lisbon’s famous Santo António festivities are to reach their climax today with the Popular Marches parade and the mass wedding.
24 neighbourhood floats are taking part in this year’s Popular Marches last today, while this morning 16 couples will simultaneously say ‘I do’ in the traditional Santo António mass weddings.
The day culminates in the customary street parties; drivers in the capital today can expect widespread disruption to traffic, and tomorrow is a local holiday.
