New labour law to come into effect on 1 October

A new labour law is to come into effect on 1 October.

The main changes will see experimental periods for youngsters and long-term unemployed in their first jobs being lengthened, a cap placed on hiring with fixed-term contracts, and a new turnover rate introduced.

There was general consensus of the need for a revision of the labour law.
