Portugal in the dock again over car tax
Portugal is being taken to court over car tax. Almost four years since the EU last took action against Portugal, it has now moved the case to the Court of Justice.
Brussels says the case is being brought against Lisbon for its failure to amend discriminatory legislation on car registration tax. According to the case, Portugal is being accused of not fully taking into account the depreciation of second-hand cars imported from other Member States, resulting in higher taxes for cars from other EU states.
